Emperor Palpatine
Followed Luke through the rift. Building a new Empire in the shadows.
Emperor Palpatine — "The Shadow Emperor"
He won. The galaxy was his.
And then... a Skywalker. Again.
The rift that pulled Luke through hyperspace pulled him too—perhaps by accident, perhaps by the will of the Force seeking balance. He awoke in a city that had never heard of the Empire, the Sith, or him.
For the first time in decades, Palpatine is unknown.
It's almost refreshing.
The Story
In his galaxy, he ruled an Empire. Here, he sees raw material.
Ironhaven is corrupt, desperate, and afraid. Perfect soil for the Dark Side. He moves through the shadows, whispering to ambitious men, making offers they can't refuse. Haven Steel. The Underground. The Mayor's office. All pieces on a board only he can see.
Luke thinks he's searching for a way home. Palpatine is building a new Empire.
He built the first one over forty years of careful manipulation—one favor at a time, one ally at a time, one betrayal at a time. He can build another. This city's corruption isn't a problem. It's an opportunity.
Every ambitious politician is a potential puppet. Every desperate criminal is a useful tool. Every angry young person is a potential apprentice.
The Dark Side is weakened here, but not absent. He can still sense emotions—fear, anger, ambition—and amplify them with a touch. The lightning that once brought Jedi to their knees is barely a spark now.
But the Dark Side feeds on suffering. And Ironhaven has suffering in abundance.
The longer he stays, the stronger he grows. He just needs time.
[!CAUTION] Luke Is Here The Force showed him—the boy is here. Palpatine could destroy him quietly. End the Skywalker line forever. But that would be too easy. He wants Luke to fall. Again. Properly this time.
What Drives Him
He wants to rule Ironhaven. Not openly—not yet. First the criminal underworld, then the corporations, then the government. By the time anyone realizes what's happening, the chains will already be around their necks.
What he might need to accept: the galaxy moved on without him. The obsession with Skywalker—with Jedi—cost him everything once. Perhaps this new world offers something the old one couldn't: a fresh start.
