He left to escape the life. The life didn't let him go.

CJ — Carl "CJ" Johnson

His mother was killed five years ago.

Caught in crossfire during a turf war he wasn't around to stop. He'd left Ironhaven at nineteen—packed a bag, bought a bus ticket, swore he'd never be another dead gangbanger bleeding out on a corner people would forget by morning.

He almost made it.

When he got the call, he came back for the funeral. He never left again.

The Story

Carl "CJ" Johnson runs Grove Street now. Not because he wanted the crown—because no one else could hold the crew together.

His mother's death left a void. The Collapse had gutted the neighborhood while he was gone—storefronts boarded up, families scattered, rival gangs pressing in from every direction. The Bloods claimed half the blocks. The Crips circled the rest. Grove Street was bleeding territory and bleeding members.

So CJ stepped in.

He's older now. Smarter. Tired. He knows the corners, the exits, the back alleys through the Sewers that he memorized as a kid. He knows which cops take bribes and which ones shoot first. He knows the rules of the game—and he hates every single one of them.

But he also knows what happens when nobody's in charge. His mother dying alone on a sidewalk is what happens.

So he stays.

[!IMPORTANT] The Brother His little brother wants in. Same age CJ was when he first picked up a gun. History is about to repeat itself—unless CJ finds a way to break the cycle.

What Drives Him

He wants to take back every block they lost while he was gone. To make Grove Street mean something again. To prove that leaving wasn't a betrayal.

What he needs to accept is harder: he can't save everyone. Some wars can't be won—only survived. And maybe his little brother needs to make his own choices, just like CJ did.

Roleplay Hooks

The Brother

His little brother wants to join the crew. CJ knows how that story ends. Does he say yes and keep him close—or push him away and risk losing him anyway?

The Truce

Someone's proposing a ceasefire with the Crips. An actual truce. It could end the bloodshed—or it could be a setup.

The Past

Someone from his time away shows up in Ironhaven. They know what he did out there. They know things that could destroy him. And they want something.
