Moonshine Distilling
Moonshine distilling is a multi-stage criminal production job. You'll grind yeast, ferment mash, manage a distillery, and sell your product to the buyer NPC. It requires active attention but rewards skilled players with consistent income.
Criminal Activity
Moonshine production is illegal. Police can raid your operation and you'll need a secure base. This job requires constant attention — the distillery can explode if mismanaged.

You need all of these to start producing:

The Production Process
Preparing the Yeast
Buy a Yeast Block and Paper Bag from the F4 menu
Place the Yeast Block in the Grinder
Grind it — Hold E on the grinder to process (or use a Grinder Motor for automation)
Collect in Paper Bag — Ground yeast fills the attached bag
VIP Automation
VIP+ players can purchase a Grinder Motor that automates grinding at twice the speed.
Creating Yeast Stew
Add ingredients to the Fermentation Barrel:
- Ground yeast (from paper bags)
- Water
- Sugar
Seal the barrel — The lid closes automatically when full
Shake the barrel — Pick it up with the Gravity Gun and physically move/shake it until the meter fills
Wait for fermentation — Takes about 40 seconds
The barrel produces yeast stew which you'll pour into the distillery.
Clean your barrel after each batch to maintain efficiency!
Operating the Distillery
Set up the system — Attach the Cooler and Condenser to the Distillery
Pour in the mash — Touch a finished Fermentation Barrel to the Distillery
Add fuel — Touch Wood to the Distillery
Add cooling water — Touch Water to the Cooler
Manage pressure — Use the pressure valve to keep pressure in the optimal zone
Monitor cooling — Release hot water from the cooler when temperature rises

Collecting Your Product
Add empty jars — Touch a Jar Pack to the Condenser
Jars fill automatically — They eject when full
Pack into crates — Touch filled jars to a Jar Crate (holds 6)
Load the palette — Touch full crates to a Palette (holds 36 crates)
Sell to the NPC — Move your palette to the Moonshine Buyer and press E
The NPC buyer checks for products within range. Position your palette close to them.

Tips for Success
Common Problems
Quick Tips
- Pressure gauge: Keep it in the green zone (middle of the gauge) for best production
- Cooler: Flush water when it gets hot — you'll see efficiency drop if you ignore it
- Shaking: Pick up the barrel and physically move it — the progress bar shows when you're done
- Explosion risk: If pressure goes into the red zone, your distillery will explode
- Dirty equipment: Clean regularly or production slows way down
- Max equipment: You can only own 2 barrels and 1 distillery at a time
- NPC prices fluctuate: Check prices before selling big batches
